I had a coffee table created for my wife for Christmas and it turned out amazing! I had very high expectations and wanted the table a very specific way. They made sure every step of the way that the project was as I wanted it. My wife and I both love the completed project! We will definitely use again when we do a kitchen table and I highly recommend them to do your custom wood projects.

We just happened to see an ad for a person who made Vermont tables.  We took a ride and met the nicest woman at her antique store.  She mentioned it was her husband but she spent time with us explaining all the wood options  .   Also explained the cuts from the saw mill and the stain/poly methods.  We choose butternut and some marks from saw mill.  We made it tough on them for stain to match our chairs.  Boy did the exceed our expectations.  I truly never thought I could love a table as much as I love ours!   It is a thing of beauty!

I met Randall while shopping at the Artful Eye antique store and saw some of his custom built tables.  My wife and I had been looking for the right table for our cabin and could not find one we liked so we decided to ask Randall to build us a custom tabletop with very specific details to be mounted on metal legs we got from Etsy.

He is very passionate about carpentry and was extremely dedicated to my satisfaction.  He hand picked the boards, sent me photos from the lumberyard, gave us stained wood samples, and even remade the tabletop after feedback.  Incredible dedication to his craft.

After we received the tabletop we loved it so much that we decided to have him build us benchtops to match.  Sitting at this table is one of my favorite places to be.

I found Randall on the Internet when I began searching for someone to build my dining room table when I couldn’t find what I was looking for at furniture stores.

I went through his website and by looking at all his posted pictures, I was able to put together what I wanted. I called and we talked for a bit going over everything.  Randall was honest about when he’d be able to build the table, I talked with him around September and he said he’d get started in January.  I was in no hurry, so no problem. I took a ride up to his wife Lisa’s store (want to go back!) and Randall’s shop, finalized all the details.

Randall got started in January, kept  me updated and sent pictures along the way, asked questions.  He was great at setting expectations, from the beginning. Made amazing suggestions that improved the look of the table.  This has been the first time I’ve had a piece of furniture of made, it is it exactly as I envisioned. The butternut is beautiful and the cantilever extension are a unique concept. These extensions are so much nicer than table leaves and having that split in the middle of the table.

We ordered a custom farmhouse style table and have had it for about a month. We couldn't be happier with it! Randall is not only an amazing craftsman but took the time to work with us every step of the way. He was great at educating on our options both in looks and practicality. Our table is truly custom and fits our home and family perfectly. The cost was amazingly competitive with what you would find in a quality furniture store, but the end product is heirloom quality. We look forward to watching our young family grow around it. From ordering to delivery was a few months but we were informed of that from the beginning. Randall even pulled off a Christmas miracle getting it to us ahead of schedule and just before the holidays. If you want a beautiful, custom table, you won't a find better value.

We had been looking for months, Online and in stores, for a solid wood, country-style farm table, but couldn't find what we wanted, until we met Randall. He not only made us the perfect table out of beautiful, high-quality wood, which we walk down to every morning and love seeing and using, but he was a pleasure to deal with. He worked to provide us with tons of information so we could pick the right wood, shape, size, colour, stain, layout, trim, you name it. He even helped us get the extensions just the way we wanted it, so they were solid and stable but easy to use.

He then packed it up so well that nothing could damage it in shipment; we even kept the crating wood!

He did all of this from 6,000 miles away, by phone, text and email. We have yet to meet him in person, and while we would love to, it wasn't necessary.

We must have Randall's first table in Israel, and are happy to have it.

I had been looking for farm tables for months on line and in antique stores.

I was looking for a table that looked old....really old. I wanted a table that came out of a farm from the early 1900's, well-worn and loved with old-days quality and charm. I couldn't find anything like what I wanted. I met Randall's wife in the Artful Eye store and she told me Randall could duplicate an old weathered look.

Randal worked hard to meet my quirky idea- I wanted it burned, beaten, showing signs of generations of use-"antiqued" and "distressed" naturally without having to wait for generations to get there. WOW, was all I can say when I got it. One would mistake it for a table found in the back of an old New England antique store, but half the price. It's like it grew out of the floor of my 1890's Vermont Home.

I stumbled upon a Craigslist ad for custom made farm tables in the process of researching a very large table for our new home.  I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but no idea how or where to start. I contacted Randall and was quickly impressed by his responsiveness and professionalism.  From our first conversation, it was clear that he was a craftsman with years of experience who took great pride in his work, his skills, and his finished products.

Over the course of several emails and phone calls, Randall and I developed a plan for a large farmhouse table with company boards, which I can add to either end of the table for holidays or company.  He talked me through the selection of wood, finishes, size, and every other imaginable decision. There were any times that I wasn’t sure and deferred to his experience, and I’m so glad that I did!

The table Randall created and delivered far exceeded anything I could have expected.  It is a conversation piece in my home, which is especially true since all of our family events seem to happen around it.  It is not unusual for people to crawl under the table and admire the workmanship and engineering required to make such a beautiful, versatile table.  Randall is always willing to try new things, including leaving some of the rough saw marks visible and a custom carving. Randall was constantly updating and checking in with me, and I loved getting pictures of the work in progress.

Working with Randall was a wonderful process and I cannot recommend him highly enough.  The table he created for us will be passed down to our children, and we gained a friend through the experience.  I look forward to other beautiful pieces through the years!

When we moved into a house with a big open living area and huge fireplaces, I knew immediately that I wanted a gigantic, solid, farmhouse table. We love to host large parties of guests, and I wanted somewhere we could all fit comfortably for meals, after dinner drinks, and games.  But, do you know how much a table like that can cost!? Most were completely out of my price range.  I was starting to give up on the idea when I met Randall at the Artful Eye, the furniture shop he runs with his wife Lisa in St. J.  Randall was able to make me exactly what I wanted, exactly the size and color I wanted, for a very good price.  Unfortunately, there were some problems with the wood in that first table, which had not been kiln-dried.  When I contacted Randall to ask him to fix it, he volunteered to make a completely new table! He also came and delivered it, free of charge.  We couldn't be happier with the table and with our experience.  It was wonderful to be able to use a local craftsman and local wood, and to be able to make a connection in St Jonsbury.

My wife and I were in the market for a custom built farm table.  I saw Randall’s ad on Craigslist so we set up a time to meet at The Artful Eye in St. Johnsbury.

We met with his wife Lisa who showed us some of the tables on display.  I was on my back under one of the tables admiring the incredible craftsmanship Randall builds into every table when he appeared.  He was not fazed seeing me in this position.  Apparently his initial contact with many of his future customers starts out this way.

 After seeing several examples of his craftsmanship, we decided to go forward and have him build our table.  When we started out we thought we knew what we wanted, but in reality we didn’t.  We spoke by phone and texted several design changes for the length, height, width and species of wood.  In other words, we keep changing our minds the more we got involved.  Ultimately, because he is so accommodating and a great communicator with much patience, we ended up with a very unique table that exceeded our demands.

It’s a quality piece of furniture that will be handed down to our children.  Let them figure out who gets to keep it!  For now, we are all going to enjoy it for many years to come.
